We wanted to provide you with an update on the status of the pool project. Please see below:
• The HOA Board has made the decision to not go into contract with Prime (Extreme) Pools and Concrete.
• This decision was driven by the fact that Prime continually missed deadlines, provided poor communication around the project, and overall, the HOA Board did not feel comfortable with moving forward with a vendor that is not based in the local area.
• The HOA has spent $8,570 towards the pool project, so far. This spend was related to necessary steps including a pool concept design, site survey and permit drawings. Good news about this is that the HOA owns these plans, and we expect to be able to re-use them once a new vendor is selected. Basically, no money was wasted with the previous vendor that we were working with.
• Speaking of a new vendor, the HOA Board has decided to pursue exploratory discussions with Hidden Creek Landscaping, a local, reputable company that we have met with twice so far.
• No money, commitment, or contracts have been signed with Hidden Creek so far - we are still in the due diligence / planning phase.
• Considering the change in vendors and the current timeline, the plan for 2025 is to make necessary repairs to the pool to make it usable for the current year.
• The tentative plan is if we are able to fully vet and come to an appropriate cost on the new pool with a new vendor, construction would begin in September 2025 with full completion well ahead of May 2026.
While we are disappointed that a new pool isn't going to be ready for Summer 2025, this is the best decision to ensure that our money is spent appropriately with a partner that we can fully trust. To reiterate, there has been no wasted money on the previous vendor, and there is no commitment with them going forward.
More information will be shared at the Annual Meeting on Wednesday March 12.
